Learn about Warehouse Racking Permit Support

Obtaining necessary permits is an important part of building a material handling system. The permitting process should start early on so that operations are not delayed. Identifying what permits are required should be done during the planning phase of the building or material handling system.

However, the permitting process can be complicated. Having an experienced company, such as RCS, provide permitting support for your warehouse racking system ensures that all codes and standards set forth by the International Code Council (ICC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and other governing documents are adhered to, with the goal of making sure the facility is safe for employees to work in.

RCS is a woman owned and operated, WBE certified company that provides warehouse racking permit support nationwide. We work with end users, manufacturers, dealers, and contractors to provide a safe, compliant material handling system. We partner with a highly rated fire protection engineering firm to ensure that all life safety requirements applicable to your municipality are adhered to.

Permitting Support Services

RCS provides comprehensive permitting support services for high pile storage permits, life safety permits, sprinkler permits, and electrical permits. We’re highly experienced in the permitting process for all types of rack systems, including multi-level rack systems.

An overview of our permitting support process is as follows:

01 Step One

RCS will conduct a life safety evaluation to determine what permits, if any, are required.

02 Step Two

If permits are required, we’ll put together all necessary drawings and other documentation needed for permit approval. This can include a high pile storage report.

03 Step Three

All necessary permitting documentation is submitted to the municipality for approval.

04 Step Four

Once all drawings are completed and all required permits are obtained, RCS engineers can source sprinklers and lighting from our network of approved vendors based on requirements and cost. We’ll work with all necessary parties to install these. We maintain a large network of installers, all of whom are thoroughly vetted to meet the highest standards for quality of workmanship.
